Morning all.  Hope you had a good weekend and that you are ready to start a new week of home learning.

English
We are going to carry on our mini unit of work on Harry Potter this week.  Here are your tasks for today.
Read ‘Night Bus Extract 1’ from the Prisoner of Azkaban
  • How do you think Harry is feeling through these different events? Write some of his feelings on the text.
  • Watch the clip of this scene from the film version. What do you think about the way that the film has shown this scene? Is there anything that you think they have missed out? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FArmRa092H0
Read ‘Night Bus Extract 2’ from the Prisoner of Azkaban
  • Write what Stan Shunpike might have said to his friends when he had realised that Harry Potter himself had been on his bus.
  • Draw a picture showing the scene when the Night Bus first appears to Harry.

Maths
Your maths task today focuses on finding fractions of amounts.  We have done this in school - remember to divide by the denominator and then multiply by the numerator.  I have attached the song to help you!  The attached sheet has learning reminders so you can tune your brain into the topic and 2 practice sheets - mild and hot.  As usual there are ‘A bit stuck..?’ sheets for you to try with an adult if you need extra practice and some questions to check your understanding.

Challenge
I don’t think the Harry Potter books ever told us the spell for creating rainbows. I know lots of you have created rainbows and put them in your windows to support our key workers.  Why don’t you try this potion which makes rainbows beautifully! You can use Skittles or M&Ms, and the beautiful rainbows you will create are magical! Watch some children carrying out the experiment at https://youtu.be/A9BOHvThsO0 and follow the instructions at https://www.funwithmama.com/easy-skittles-rainbow-kids-candy-science-experiment/ to create your own rainbows.  Send me a picture or a video of the rainbows you have made.
