This term Class 13 have been exploring the frozen lands of the Polar Regions on our planet, and discovering, to our surprise, that they may not be quite so hostile as we once thought. Through English, Science, Topic and Mathematics we've homed in on expanding our knowledge of Polar biodiversity, food webs, scientific discovery and everything from the sinking of the Titanic to the silver lining of climate change.
We've discovered that a number of 'so called' explorers may have had their longitude and latitude a little less accurate than they would have liked, and that sacking the only man with a key to the look-out binoculars on a cruise ship in the middle of an ice field was; quite possibly, the biggest mistake of White Star Line's history as a company.
Taking a heightened interest in improving our speaking and language skills this term, we've looked at 'Higher Level Oracy' and have focused on a concept called Harkness Oracy which will prepare us for debating as young adults in the future.
