Happy Friday everyone, Can you believe another week has passed? We’ve all enjoyed seeing your amazing work again this week and know it’s not easy to stay focused at home but you’re doing a fabulous job. We’ve loved speaking to lots of you on the phone throughout the week which has made us miss you even more!
Literacy Task This week you’ve thought of lots of words that link to the seaside/beach and even added adjectives to them so today your writing challenge is to write an `I wish……` poem.. Success Criteria: -Write the title – I wish…….. -Think about and talk with a grown up about different things you wish for. This could be as crazy as wishing sharks had wings or it might be about what you will do when the germs have gone e.g. visit a local beach/go on holidays to a seaside location. -Write 5 sentences (more if you want to) stating with I wish……… -Include adjectives (describing words) in your sentences -Keep your handwriting neat and try to remember which are the tall letters and which letters go under the line. Extra Challenge - Can you make your poem rhyme? (not essential) Here’s one as an example: I wish I was an elegant dolphin swimming and jumping over the crashing waves. I wish I could find a big sparkly treasure chest hidden in the deep dark caves. Have lots of fun writing these and we can’t wait to read your wishes later on when you send them to us on Google Classroom.
Maths Well done to everyone who has completed this week’s multiplication challenges! Today we would like you to practise all the skills you’ve learnt this week (multiplying by 2, 5, 10 and maybe 3 and 4) by playing `Hit The Button` game on Topmarks - https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-he-button In this game you will develop your mental maths skills as you play against the clock to answer multiplication questions. Follow the link above and begin by selecting Times Tables , then choose the times tables you want to challenge yourself with (2, 3,4, 5 or 10) under the heading Hit the answer. If you want to challenge yourself even further you could also play Hit the question . Remember our times tables can be tricky so try to practise them regularly at home and use the songs we posted on Tuesday as a fun way to help you. Here are the links to the 3 and 4 times tables’ songs if you are confident with your 2, 5 and 10s. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_cn87hOCDM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pkcIJn5HrMI We look forward to hearing what your best scores are and finding out which times tables you can get the highest score with! Have Fun and a great weekend!
