Will you read with me?

Listen to Room on the Broom, then answer these questions.

Literal question (this means you can find the answer in the story, either in the words, or in the pictures.) What colour was the bird?

Inferential question (this means that there are clues in the story to help you, but you have to use your head to work them out.) Why did the witch pull her hat down firmly?

Evaluative question (this type of question is asking what you think. There's no right answer, but you have to say why you think that.) Should the witch have let all of the animals ride her broom? Why?

I'd love it if you answered the questions in the comments section. Don't forget to pick a task from the home learning menu too and there's also a project on Google Classrooms, accessed through Hwb, to keep you busy. Have a great day!

Bore da pawb! I hope you have been managing to go outside for a little walk with a grown up and enjoy the sunshine! Today's challenge is to go out into the garden or look outside the window and find signs of Spring. Why not draw a Spring picture and ask a grown up to send it to an elderly person who is stuck inside? It will brighten up their day!
Let me know how you get on!

Have a go at reading and writing these words by yourself and sound talk it before you write it

What will I grow up to be?
What will I look like as a baby and a grown up?
Where will I live?
What will I eat?
Good luck boys and girls and don't forget to ask a grown up to write a comment below. I'd love to hear from you!

Don't forget to choose an activity from our home learning menu. Have fun!

Good morning! As it's another beautiful day outside, today's task is another one that can be done in the garden. Can you make your name out of recycled materials? Remember to also pick a task from the menu of activities today.

The Maths Factor is usually around £2 a week but at the moment, you can access it for free, until schools re-open. There are activities suitable for children from age 4, so it's worth exploring.

Have fun with your learning today. Leave me a comment if you have any questions or just to let me know how you're getting on. It's always lovely to hear from you.

 Bore Da pawb!
I hope you are all well and finding time to do some really fun things. Why not have a look at some fun phonics today? Ask a grown up to help you go onto You Tube, search for Mr Thorne Phonics and help Geraldine the Giraffe learn her sounds. You can start from any sound and work through.  Be a sound detective and have a competition with a grown up to find as many words as you can starting with that sound!
Let me know what you've been up to boys and girls and comment below. Here's a little poem I found  to cheer us all up.

Good morning! As the sun is shining this morning, today's task is to go outside into your garden and collect natural items, such as rocks, sticks and feathers and use these to make the alphabet. If you can remember it, you can also teach your parents our alphabet song.

You may want to access real PE. This is the online resource that we use for PE in school.real PE at home includes an online programme which supports families to be active, play and learn together. It includes a programme specifically for children in Early Years with over 250 activities and challenges and 1000s of hours of fun and activity. This programme is also great for family play and fun.
There are so many benefits to being active, not only to our physical wellbeing but also to our emotional and mental health, especially in such testing times for all of us. We hope that the ideas help support you and your family to stay fit and healthy in the coming months. Here are the details to access real PE at home:
