Morning Boys, Girls and Parents.
Today I would like you to practice mark making, making numbers and letters. Depending how far along you child is in their development your child can make marks, letters or numbers using their fingers, paint brushes, pencils or pens. They will enjoy all depending how messy you want the house to be today!
Ogmore Vale Primary uses a writing scheme called Nelson Hand Writing. This is the style of handwriting that we would like your child to develop. The first stages of this scheme is making patterns and shapes which then progresses onto letter shapes. Parents I've added a quick overview video for for you to watch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vzZA5CeyMQY. Also some hand warm up activities. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7QJ4pdNzvo
Here is an image of how the letters should look.

Below are some images of ways you can get creative with marking, letters and numbers at home. I've taking this from Pinterest. This is my favourite tool for thinking outside the box. Please click on the image to read the caption that I have added.
These are just a few activities that can be used both for numbers and letters. Please remember that some of your children will not be at the stage to make letters or numbers. Please let them explore and model shapes and line movements with them. Most importantly have fun!
