Morning Boys, Girls and Parents
Carrying on with our train journey, I would like you to make a junk model train. Hopefully you have lots of junk objects in your recycling bags. Have fun getting crafty! Have a look at the games below and choose on or more that you feel your child can access.
Game 1: Look at images of trains either in books or from an online source. Are they all the same? Can you say what is different about them?
Game 2: Make a train picture: Use shapes made from gummed paper or pre-made paper shapes. Look carefully at what shapes you need to make up your train. How long can you make your train? How about including some passengers and the tracks.
Game 3: Draw a picture of what you want your train to look like and make a list of what materials you will use. (look in your recycling bag) Gather your materials and build your train. Decorate your train adding detail, such as windows and passengers. Below I've added a some examples.
