Remote learning for the Nursery will remain on this web page next week. Should schools continue to be closed AFTER January 18th, then we will move to google classroom. To be part of the nursery google classroom, you need to email me at Jonesf810@hwbcymru.net for your child's hwb email address. Every child in the Nursery has a hwb email and you will need to get it from me in order to join our google classroom. I wish to set up our Nursery google classroom asap in case we continue to be in lockdown after the 18th or in case of future lockdowns. Please email me over the next week for your child's email and instructions on how to join the Nursery classroom. If you have difficulties in accessing online learning or have little or no internet access, remember you can contact the school for internet assistance and loan of a laptop. Please leave a message on the school answer phone. I will upload work for the following day the evening before, so that you have time to familiarise yourself with the activities. I find it helps to be well prepared beforehand when I'm homeschooling my own two!

Click on the link above as we continue to concentrate on learning how to rhyme this week. Look around your home or on your walk today and find pairs of items that rhyme. It may help to gather a selection of items that rhyme beforehand and ask your child to match them e.g. van, pan, cat, hat, pen, hen, star, car, tree, bee, jug, mug. If you child is confident with rhyming then continue to find items that rhyme. If your child needs to slow it down, then concentrate on one rhyming family each day e.g. you could stick with words that rhyme with cat today. Don't forget to continue reading and singing lots of nursery rhymes together everyday (e.g. Humpty Dumpty, Hickory Dickory Dock, Miss Molly had a Dolly etc) pausing for your child to predict the rhyming word.
Examples of other rhyming families are below. I have also uploaded an activity sheet you can do either by printing or orally match the pictures.

Maths - One more than...
Today we are going to concentrate on 'one more than'. Gather a selection of 10 teddies/toys/cars. Put one toy down and ask your child what is 'one more'. Put down the toy next to the first and ask them what is 'one more' than two. Continue up to 10. You can stretch your child by taking away the toys and asking them what is 'one more than' a given number, but this time don't give them the concrete resources. It is really important that you chant the numbers up to 10 everyday. Children need to practise saying the numbers regularly. If your child is ready they can chant numbers to 20 and you can ask them what is 'one more than' using numbers to 20.

Topic - if my pet could....
Watch the link below and talk about what special job or talent you would like a pet to have. Think about what special job or talent you would like a pet to be able to do! Maybe you would like your pet tiger to be able to fly so that it could take you to the moon or maybe you would like your pet dog to be able to help you tidy your room!
