Well done all you special police officers! You helped Chase find his missing police badge that Mayor Humdinger had hid! The special posters that you made really helped! Chase says a big thank you.
Literacy
To develop oral blending and segmenting skills
Chase is back on the case today! He needs your help though as Mayor Humdinger's naughty kittens have cast a spell on him and he can only speak like a robot! He needs your help to find his favourite toys that the Mayor has hidden around the house. Inform your child that Chase has lost his e.g c/u/p, p/i/g, c/a/t, b/a/g and h/a/t (choose simple CVC words -consonant vowel consonant) and say each sound in the word separately like a robot. Ask your child to then hunt for these items and return to Chase who can then talk normally again.
Further information on this skill can be found on http://www.letters-and-sounds.com/phase-1.html. There are also games on this link that the children can play.
Numeracy
Move in given directions
Chase is in police academy today training and he needs to be put through his paces. Give your child instructions to follow as if in training e.g. march forward, turn towards the door, skip forwards, turn towards the window and STOP!
Enjoy and stay safe!
