Catch up Sessions!

30/6/2020

Please can I request that when sending the children back to school for the catch up sessions, that they are as independent as they can possibly be ie velcro shoes not laces, consider putting items in the lunch bag they can open themselves (you could open packets and fold them over or empty contents into tubs) and please practise putting on and taking off coats with them. Thank you. Of course we help the children as much as we can but it would help us even more by making some slight tweaks. We are grateful for your support!

Everyone Worries

Even the bravest of the brave and the coolest of the cool worry. Worrying is normal when so much has changed.
Inspired by conversations with his parent friends who weren’t sure how to explain what is happening right now to their small children, artist and writer Jon Burgerman decided to do something to help.
“I decided to write a book about worry and stress and how normal it is and how we can try and mitigate it. I think we might not acknowledge that small children worry as much as they do. Without a means of expressing their anxieties the stress can manifest and have adverse effects.
It’s important to talk openly about what is going on and that the feelings we’re experience are being felt by a lot of people, and that by sharing and caring for each other we can try and make it a little better.”
About the book

Read the eBookEverybody WorriesWritten and illustrated by Jon Burgerman
In this bright and friendly picture book, children learn that it’s okay to worry about coronavirus. Fun rhyming couplets keep the tone gentle and supportive, and you will find plenty of ideas for dealing with coronavirus in a positive way.
Everybody Worries offers your child the reassuring message that this crisis will pass, we are there for them, and we will get through this together.

Nursery Tour

For those of you who have chosen to send your child back in for the 'check in, catch up and prepare' sessions over the next few weeks, here is a little video of what you can expect. As you can see we are not in our usual classroom as that is now repurposed for the hub children. We are instead in the Nurture classroom. I hope the little video helps put your mind at ease. You should have had a phone call from me today (monday) telling you what dates your child can visit and we look forward to welcoming in your child next week!

With lots of great ideas for activities you can do to have fun whilst staying at home.
