Good Morning everyone.
Happy New Year all and I hope you are safe and well and had a lovely Christmas break. As we are not back in school yet, I am setting you some work today that will cover the next three days. It is based on our new topic for this term - 'The Mighty Robots'!
Your first task is to click on the link below to learn how to draw the 'Iron Giant' and follow the instructions to give it a go. Remember to post pictures of your efforts.
Task two is to design a robot that you can make from items for 'recycling' eg, old cardboard boxes such as those for cereal, eggs or tea bags, kitchen roll/foil holder tubes, margarine tubs, plastic milk bottles, yoghurt pots or anything else that you think may be suitable. Remember to ask for permission before you go diving into the recycling bin!! Fill in the first part of the design sheet attached below to help you plan.
The third task is to make the design, following your plan, I would also like you to evaluate what you have made. Fill in the rest of the design sheet thinking about questions such as: What changes you would make and why? What was easy? What was tricky? Remember to take photos and email or upload to me by Monday 11th January.
These instructions are also on Google Classroom!
I would also like you to log into Active Learn where I have allocated new Maths activities for you and Bug club where you should have more books to read and quizzes to complete.
I am also posting a daily family activity here on our class page for you to have a go at!
If you have any problems accessing any of the learning please message/ email me. It is really important to try and complete the activities I am setting as they will keep our brains ticking over and active until we can get back into class, they are also a part of the introduction to our new topic!
Enjoy and have fun. I cant wait to see the robot rumpus!
Take care Ms G
