Good Morning,
Here are todays home learning tasks:
Literacy - We usually do guided group reading everyday in school, where we read a book at our ability level and discuss it and answer questions as a group. Attached is a guided reading powerpoint. If your child does find it too tricky to read, then feel free to help them, or read it alongside them. It is more important that the questions in the powerpoint are talked about and discussed with your child. Encourage them to elaborate on their answers and give reasons. They do not have to write anything down, its all about discussing, understanding and enjoying the book together.
*Please also remember to read your books on active learn over half term. Please make sure you read each book a few times, and do the quizzes for each book as you go. Look in your library for books you have read. I will be allocating more books next half term to those children who have read and done the quizzes in the books.
Maths - I would like you to start practising your two times tables. Please log into you child's google classroom page to find links attached to some fun songs on youtube to help you. I have also attached some cards for you to use (Parents, if you don't want to print them, you can easily make some yourself with cut up bits of card/paper and a felt pen.) You can either use them to test yourself or your parents!! ha ha, or you can cut them up into sum and answers and play pairs or snap with them, or maybe even a scavenger hunt around the house or garden. Have fun with it.
Fun tasks - make your own firework. On google classroom you will find lots of support materials to help you get creative with this.
I hope you all have a fantastic and restful half term and I will see you all again on November 2nd, raring to get on with lots more learning.
