We had a super Friday morning of sports and fun! Take a look at us in action!

This week class 6 have started learning all about Australia.
We had a go at creating our own Aboriginal Art and took part
in a number of Bush Tucker Trials!
We hunted in the bush for stars, caught apples from the tree and
had fun during our feely box challenge!
We were also very brave during the final eating challenge!!

Olympic celebrations at OVPS

Tanni Grey Thompson is one of Britain's most successful Paralympians. She was born in Cardiff and growing up she was determined to find out for herself what she could and could not do. After trying a range of sports Tanni realised at age 13 that Wheelchair Racing was her sport of choice and at 17 she became part of the British Wheelchair Racing Squad.

In Tanni’s first Paralympics in 1988 she won a Bronze medal in the 400m. Her total Paralympic Medal tally is 11 Gold, 4 Silvers and 1 Bronze and added to that 5 Gold, 4 Silver and 3 Bronze medals at World Championships. Over her career, Tanni broke 30 world records on the track. Since retiring from sport Tanni has received numerous awards in recognition of her achievements.

Over the next 2 weeks our school will be celebrating the Olympics. Each Class/Year Group has chosen a different country to investigate and explore. We have received a message of support from Baroness Tanni Grey.

Fun Day Friday was great this week! We did lots of painting, colouring and had a good boogie to some party music. And we had party rings, yum yum!

We had great fun having some sparkle time in class for this week's fun day Friday. We really enjoyed playing on the climbing frame too!

This week we took part in a literary pop festival where Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler talked about their books and told stories and sang songs!

We have also been practising telling the time on digital and analogue clocks and learning about plastic pollution in our oceans.

This week we have enjoyed role playing in our new Ice Cream Parlour,
we have learnt how to present information in pictograms and have loved
listening to our new story, Tiddler!
We finished off our week with a super Fun Day Friday afternoon.
We painted sunsets, made 3D sea creatures and cut out our colouring creations.

We had a super Pirate Day!
We enjoyed making our pirate food
and we followed a treasure map left by Captain Orange Beard
and found his hidden treasure! Aaarrggh!

This week we have learnt about fractions, about rock pool creatures and lots of us have completed challenges around the classroom,
like the building challenges in the lego. We had a Pirate Party too!
