Welsh: Please sing-a-long. Lliwiau enfys Coch a melyn a pinc a glas, Porffor ac oren a gwyrdd. Dyma lliwiau enfys, Lliwiau enfys Lliwiau enfys hardd.
Game 2: Watch the clip of Julia and Groover. Today they look at a repeating pattern on a necklace. Today I would like you to make a necklace with two colours e.g. red, green, red, green etc. You can use shop brought beads or even coloured pasta. I've added a quick 'How to dye pasta' so you can use items that are already in your house. To make threading easier use a pipe cleaner as they are stiffer and make your creation into bracelets instead.
Game 3: First click and watch the 'Repeating Patterns' button. Here you will see me demonstrate a repeating pattern using shape and colour. Challenge your child to describe this pattern. Can they tell you what shape or colour would come next? Challenge your child to copy my pattern. You can use 2 shapes, or coloured bits of paper, coloured cars etc. Can your children create their own repeating pattern. Remind them that it must repeat. |
Phonics I've added the Jolly Phonics song again for you all to sing-a-long and to do the actions. In class we sing this whole song at least twice a week. Relating it to the Jolly Phonics ruler for the ones who are ready to spell, read and write. Below I've added the ruler again for you to start making connections with your child. ![]()

Game 2: Todays words all have the rhyme 'am'. It also reinforces the initial sounds (phonemes) at the beginning of the words. For todays challenge I would like you to be word detectives and see how many words you can make with the word ending 'am'. I'll do the first one for you...'S' and 'am' makes Sam. Parents can you write the 'am' five times on a board or on a piece of paper. Then with letter tiles, magnetic letters etc ask your child to put a new sound at the start of the word to make a new rhyming CVC word. It doesn't matter if the words are nonsense words. Please use sounds that they know e.g. s,t,p,n,m,d etc. Ask your child to read the word that they have made. Remember they are only changing the initial letter. You can help them to blend the word together.
Topic Our story is 'the Gingerbread Man'. He couldn't cross the river because he couldn't swim. He didn't want to sink to the bottom. We are going to investigate 'sinking and floating'. Today I would like you to watch this CBeebies song all about sinking and floating.
