Morning Boys and Girls.
It's another day of fun activities. Please pick a task that suits your child. The activities are progressive, so game 1 is the simplest and game 3 is the hardest.
It's another day of fun activities. Please pick a task that suits your child. The activities are progressive, so game 1 is the simplest and game 3 is the hardest.
Maths Game 1: Listen and sing-a-long to the song '1,2, Buckle My Shoe'. You can extend this song by finding a pair of shoes. Make connections to your child's feet. One on the left and one on the right. Make collections of other things we wear in two's. e.g. gloves. Count/sign how many you have altogether?
Game 2: This week we are learning about doubles. Watch Number Blocks, 'Double Trouble'. For this task you will need 10 building blocks. Parents use building blocks to build a tower of 1. Ask you child to build a tower of 1. Show your child they are the same amount but when they are together you have doubled them. The number of blocks consisting of two equal, identical, blocks. Repeat for number 2, 3,4 and 5. Please record and model writing the sum for your child e.g. 2+2=4, double 2 equals 4. |
Game 3: You will need a set of dominoes for this task. Ask you child to look at a set of dominoes and try to find all the doubles. Explain, just like the above activity that both sides of the domino needs to be the same. Then record as 1 + 1 = 2, 2 + 2 = 4… 6 + 6 = 12. Place the dominos in number order e.g. 2,4,6 etc. Can they notice a pattern/make links to the numbers of the dominos? Below I've added a double dominos sheet to reinforce the activity. |

Topic Have a look at 'Elmo at the Zoo'. In this clip he finds animal mums and their babies. Can you draw or paint your favourite animal? Below I've attached some colouring sheets if you are able to print. ![]()

Game 1: Please sing-a-long and make these animal noises in his lovely 'Animal Sound Fun' song. Copy the noises as you sing. Can you make a an action to accompany the animals?
Game 2: For this task you will need some magnetic/plastic letters and a tray/bag to freeze. This is letter rescue. Use your hands or a spray bottle with water to reveal which letters are hiding. Ask your child to name the sound of the letter. Last week we looked at sounds 's,a,t,n'. This week lets add the letters 'i,p'. To extend this task lets try and make the words; Set 1: at, a, sat, pat, tap, sap, as Set 2:it, is, sit, pit, tip Set 3:an, in, nip, pan, nap
Keep safe and well.
