Morning Boys and Girls

Friday has come around again. 'It's the most wonderful day of the week' Before the weekend arrives, here's todays activities. They are all super fun so we hope you enjoy!
Game 1: Play this sort colour game with Sid the Science Kid. Drag the correct colour rocks into the right box. To extend you could gather and paint rocks or stones and sort them into the correct colour groups.

Game 2: Can you copy this action pattern with Jack Hartman? Challenge your child to discuss and put the pattern in words.  Can you make your own action pattern?
Game 3: Similar to game 2, create a copy me repeating pattern e.g. clap, clap, stamp, stamp, clap, clap, stamp, stamp. Challenge your child to copy and say the pattern. Challenge your child to think of different actions. How about putting the repeating pattern actions to a song, just for fun. You vary the moves by could clapping  fast or clapping slow. Join in with Banana, Banana, meatball dance.
Active Challenge Real PE
The weather hasn't been great again this week so here's an activity that can take place indoors. Make it into a competition with their siblings. See who can do the most poses and who can hold them the longest!
Blowing Bubbles
Blowing bubbles is a great motor mouth activity and a great attention grabber when starting any task with your child. I've added a short clip of how to make a bubbles using a recycled bottle and a sock. If you don't feel creative normal bubbles are great fun too!

Three Pigs and a Gingerbread Man
This week is National Reading Week. You will find a range of books allocated to your child in www.activelearnprimary.co.uk. Alternately you could choose a favourite story or book to read together. Today I've read a mix up fairy tale for you all to share with me. It's called 'Three Pigs and a Gingerbread Man'.

Now that you have listened to the story I would like you to gather some toys and create and tell your own match up stories. I want you to be the story tellers! It might be a story of a toy dog and Buzz Light Year or a story with an LOL doll and a teddy bear. Remember to give your story a start... It could start with 'Once Upon a time'... then in the middle you can tell us of some adventures that happen and where, then so we know the story has finished you could say 'The End' . What about preforming your story behind the sofa just like a puppet show? As always we'd love to see what you have done. So please share through an email.

Topic
Please listen to this Non fiction story 'This Floats, That Sinks'. You will find this book on www.activeleanprimary.co.uk.  Once you have read through it again look at the last page together and conduct your own investigation with the suggested items. This would be a fun task for the bath!
Keep Safe and have a wonderful weekend.

The Coronavirus means that the parents have become the teachers and school is at home. For some children this extension of the school holiday and being at home is confusing. The routines have changed and has brought different challenges and behaviours. Below is a link to the Barnardo's website. Here you will find a range of resources, tools, videos and more for children with special educational needs and disability.
