It's been an incredibly busy few weeks in Class 13 and so we ended on a high with our Good to be Green party on Thursday afternoon. This celebrated the achievements of the children who have been well behaved for the whole of the half term. As our theme is 'identity' we watched the film 'Wonder', ate popcorn and drunk hot chocolate. What a lovely way to start the holidays!
Well done to:
Maisie Vernon - our 'Seren yr Wythnos' for always completing her work to the best of her ability.
Ysabel Davies - our handwriting champion for trying her best to join her letters.
Emily Delve - our house point champion for this week.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.
See you on Monday for our last week before a well-earned half term break.
Another week of hard work in Class 13.
Jaylee won our 'Seren yr Wythnos' for always doing the right thing.
Take a look at the amazing diary entry she has written this week from Dennis's viewpoint all about the incident when he wore a dress to school.
We have studied the same event from a different viewpoint.
This is what Roselyn wrote about the incident of the boy in the dress from Mr Hawtrey's perspective.
We have also been working hard in maths and some children have been lucky enough to work with our new member of staff, Mrs Dunning, this week on their measuring skills.
October is Black History month and for homework this week the children in Class 13 are researching an influential black icon.
Make sure you head over to Google Classroom and hand in your finished presentations by Tuesday.
Well... we've had a month back in school now and we are working hard on our topic of icon and identity.
This week we have immersed ourselves in the world of Dennis from David Walliams's book 'The Boy in the Dress'. He has just been expelled from school for wearing a bright orange sequined dress to school!
We have empathised with the characters from the novel and we are preparing to write diary entries from different perspectives next week. I'll upload some of our efforts when they are complete.
It's lovely to see everyone back in school.
We are looking forward to a happy and productive term in Class 13 and we've already started working hard.
Our theme for this term is Icons and Identity.
We are really enjoying our class novel 'The Boy in the Dress' by David Walliams. We are all special and unique and the children in Class 13 are celebrating diversity and individuality this term.
We'll keep you updated with our progress.
