In English we are speeding ahead with our stories from other cultures writing journey. I have been impressed with the setting descriptions created and the understanding of what needs to be included in narrative writing.
In maths we have been learning about angles (NOT ANGELS!!) We know how to identify an acute, right and obtuse angle and started to use a protractor to accurately measure them. We also learnt the 8 compass points and how to give directions using them.
In science this week we investigated the water content of food and made predictions about which fruits and vegetables held most water. It was a very interesting investigation with some surprises.
Aside from that, we concentrated on our Christmas craft, lovingly making calendars, a beautiful decoration and a Christmas card. I am so excited for the children to take them home. In other Christmas news, our elf - Pip got up to some mischief this week - zip lining across the classroom, swinging from the lights, making snow flakes and selling reindeer poop! I wonder what he'll get up to next week...
Congratulations to our stars of the week:
Lily - Inspire award for improved enthusiasm in class
Eliza - for giving 100% effort to presentation
Ariana - for writing a super setting description
Some reminders for next week (week beginning 7.12.20)
Wednesday - bring PE kit (not Thursday)
Wednesday - virtual pantomime
Thursday - class Christmas party
Friday - movie and munchies
