Welcome to Ogmore Vale Primary School
Dear children, parents and carers,
On behalf of the children, staff and governors, I would like to welcome you to Ogmore Vale Primary School. Our school is an English speaking school, promoting the Welsh Language and Culture throughout our Curriculum. Our school caters for pupils aged 3-11 from Ogmore Vale and the surrounding areas.
We are conscious of the necessity to provide all of our learners with a broad and balanced curriculum, as well as establishing a set of values, which develop responsible caring individuals. Ogmore Vale Primary School strives to achieve its aims through a strong partnership between governors, staff, children, parents and the community. We are a team who believe in the value of every child and adult who comes into our school. As such, we want all of our school family to feel valued, happy and respected and to recognise their role in continuing to make our school the best it can be.
We strongly believe in the concept of life-long learning and in the idea that both adults and children learn new things every day. In our school, we aim to raise standards and ensure all pupils reach their full potential. Our school is a place where learning is exciting and stimulating. We base our teaching on four core purposes which we aim to embed throughout the school. These four purposes are to develop pupils who are:
We want Ogmore Vale Primary School to be a school that reflects both your aspirations and our high expectations in terms of behaviour and achievement, and to be a happy place where adults and children interact as lifelong learners. Our school mission statement is: “Together we soar to success” and we believe that every child that comes to our school will be provided with every opportunity to be the best they can be.
I am sure that your child will be very happy with us and, in future years, will look back on their experiences at Ogmore Vale Primary School as being one of the happiest times of his/her life.
